This Government understands the anxiety that many people are facing when it comes to rising energy bills. The Energy Price Cap remains in place and protects millions of people from sudden increases in global gas prices. The Government runs a number of targeted schemes which include the Warm Home Discount, which supports 2.2 million people with a £140 discount on their energy bills. Further schemes include the Winter Fuel Payments and the Cold Weather Payments – these ensure the most vulnerable are able to heat their homes over the colder months.
