I know many of you have been in contact with my office regarding the situation in Afghanistan, and have been kind enough to offer your support to the people coming to the local area through the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP).
West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) have agreed to house 320 people until longer term arrangements are put in place to resettle them in new homes across the country.
These servicemen and women risked their lives to support our troops in Afghanistan, and we owe it to them to step up and show the same level of commitment they afforded us.
At this stage, WNC is appealing for donations of everyday items such as clothes, baby equipment, and mobile phones, but if you have any other ideas of ways you can provide support, these will be greatly appreciated.
