Thank you for contacting me about the Global Vaccine Summit. I am proud that the UK hosted this summit in June 2020 to raise vital funds for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to support their work to protect almost half the world’s children against deadly, preventable diseases.
Bringing together representatives from 62 countries, leaders from global health organisations, the private sector, vaccine manufacturers and civil society organisations, the summit had a fundraising target of $7.4 billion dollars. This target was exceeded, with world leaders pledging $8.8 billion dollars.
